Dan Moss's
"The Railroadiana Express"

A Monthly Issue
of Railroad Relics and Collectibles

Railroadiana Express

The Railroadiana Express, Summer, 1976

Dan Moss organized and incorporated the Railroadiana Collectors Association, Inc. in 1971. He
poured his money and effort into the RCAI, and boasted having 200 members within one year.

Dan was "a Lionel Collector and O scale modeler" in Mobile, Alabama. He did collect
railroad annual passes, but he held on to very little other "railroadiana."

His pride and joy was the RCAI quarterly publication, "The Railroadiana Express." In the "early years,"
his devotion (and donations) to those issues resulted in nationwide success.

"Stack Talk" was Dan's major contribution to each issue of the "Express." Some of his thoughts:

" . . . thefts of railroadiana from railroad property . . . Gentlemen, this is not 'collecting' . . . (Fall 1974)

. . . Time has now come for Regions to be established . . . (Winter 1974)

. . . compared to us, the federal government is on the Gold Standard. . . We took in $1330.00 last year . . .
we spent $483.12 more than we took in. . . (Spring 1975)

. . . Active negotiations are again in progress with the IRS in the hopes of obtaining tax exempt status. . . (Spring 1976)"

Tax-exempt status was granted that summer. The RCAI prospered, and is still operating today.
